Bimatoprost thickens, lengthens, and darkens the eyelashes. It is thought to promote eyelash hair growth by extending and increasing the number of hairs in the anagen phase (growth phase). Careprost eye drops are applied to the base of the top eyelashes with the accompanying applicator or brush. The solution is administered once a day, usually in the evening. Careprost should be used daily to achieve the intended results. Significant eyelash growth is common within a few weeks. Itching, redness, and inflammation of the eyes are all common side effects. Some persons may notice a darkening of the skin on their upper eyelids or an increase in brown pigmentation.
